Anyone signing up for a Premium Membership to the Illustration Exchange in 2010 through 2011 will automatically receive a COMPLIMENTARY membership to ASFA - the Association of Science Fiction/Fantasy Artists - as well. In addition to various items of membership swag, ASFA members are also entitled to nominate and vote on the Chesley Awards, one of the most significant awards in the fantastic art field.

ILLUSTRATION EXCHANGE PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

• Free Illustration Exchange members (non-members and registered non-Premium members) see postings on a TWO WEEK DELAY.

Non-Premium members will still be able to post whatever they want, look at whatever they want, buy, and sell — but, they will not see new items until 14 days after they are posted to the site. Premium Members see the site in real-time. Obviously, a two week head start provides Premium Members with a significant "leg up" in terms of acquiring artwork that is posted for sale on the Exchange.

However, there is one exception: posters will ALWAYS be able to see their own postings immediately — in real-time — in order to enable posts to be proofread.

• Non-posted information is only available the Premium Members. I field a lot of requests from people interested in contacting someone to inquire about a piece that is NOT listed for sale or to contact an artist directly. That contact information will only be shared with Premium Members.

I apologize for this one, but now that the Exchange has grown to the point where I don't know a lot of the people on it, it's just too difficult for me to decide when it's appropriate to give out non-public information. The Premium membership at least provides me with a basic way to vet folks before I hand out things like Alan Lee's email address. Any info that is publicly available I will happily share with anyone, of course.

• Premium Members will receive a 15% discount on any Illustration Exchange, IlluXCon, or Association of Fantastic Art merchandise. This does not include IlluXCon tickets, but does include limited edition posters, catalogs, apparel, etc. that will be offered for sale both online and at IlluXCon.

*** Please be aware that the PayPal subscription is a RECURRING subscription - you will automatically be rebilled annually. I just wanted it to invoice automatically, not bill, but there's no way to make PayPal do that . . . . so, if you do NOT want a recurring bill, just send me a standard $50 payment via PayPal at tsrart@munchkinpress.com and indicate that it is for Premium Membership payment.***

Again, these changes will take effect immediately, as I want to make sure all members who want to upgrade to Premium memberships are able to do so before the changes occur.
