In a comment on another post at CAF, it appears that Frank's cover for WEIRD SCIENCE-FANTASY #29 sold for $380,000 . . . . If true, that's got to be a record price for ANY ink by a mile . . . .

The $380,000 Frazetta cover was purchased by Jim Halperin of Heritage fame a week or two ago.

His one sentence bio on CAF says that he spends $10k - $20k a month on his collecting pursuits! Wow. Shocked

Stephen is on of the giants in comic art and comic book collecting. He is the founder of Metropolis collectibles and his collection in art and vintage comic books is one of the best ever. I live vicariously through his (and others) collection as I will never be able to afford the level of quality he has obtained.

Aw, heck . . . .having THAT much money to spend would take all the challenge out of collecting . . . .

At least, that's what I keep telling myself . . . .

Very Happy
